Diana Betancourt

Co-Founder and Executive Director

Diana is a dedicated equity and justice practitioner, whose identity as an undocumented immigrant, lesbian, and Latina informs her advocacy work. A graduate of the University of Washington, Diana earned degrees in political science and education, with a specialized focus on social and emotional learning. Through her own journey, Diana passionately asserts that education is a fundamental human right for all individuals.

For more than a decade, Diana has been a passionate advocate for immigrant rights, education access, and racial justice. Her advocacy work extends into every facet of her life, as she works tirelessly to dismantle systemic barriers and create a more equitable society for our communities.

Diana is a devoted mother to Zoe, her lovable 3-year-old Aussie Doodle. Beyond her roles as a dog mom and scholar, Diana is a multifaceted artist and community organizer. She expresses herself through spoken word poetry, captivating audiences with her powerful storytelling and commitment to social justice.

Ana is a fervent advocate for immigrant rights and education access, driven by her own experiences. She is a proud alumna of Clark College ('18) and Washington State University Vancouver ('20), where she pursued her academic interests in sociology and women studies.

In addition to her scholarly pursuits, Ana finds immense joy in her roles as a devoted mother to her teenage son and her energetic 3-year-old Aussie Doodle. Beyond her family life and academic achievements, Ana's passions extend to the realm of history, which she explores with zeal matched only by her wide array of hobbies. Among these, Ana finds creative expression through photography and the art of jewelry making.

Looking ahead, Ana hopes to further her education by pursuing a Ph.D. in the field of education. With a steadfast dedication to advocacy and a thirst for knowledge, Ana works hard to continue making significant contributions to the advancement of immigrant rights and educational equity.

Estefania
Betancourt, BSN, RN

Estefania is a dedicated healthcare professional with a strong educational background and a deep commitment to community service. She is a graduate of the Clark College Nursing Program and the University of Washington Tacoma’s BSN program and is currently a Doctoral candidate in Gonzaga University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program.

With over six years of experience as an Emergency Room nurse, Estefania also serves the community through her work with the Camas-Washougal Fire Department, providing essential resources to community members in critical situations. Beyond her professional roles, she is a passionate advocate for health equity, offering workshops to students and community members and ensuring Spanish-speaking individuals have access to essential resources, healthcare, and education for a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Despite her demanding schedule balancing two jobs and a rigorous doctoral program, Estefania cherishes her downtime with her partner and furry friend. She finds joy in tending to her plants and exploring the best restaurants in town.
